hey, guys.
im kellie from North Carolina and i have debated on whether to start taking classes, because i love to sing.
for about a month, i would sing along to every song on phantom of the opera, because thats all i had.
but im not sure what kind of classes i should take, or whether i'd be any good.
any advice?
i need to know if there's any way to tell if you would be a total disaster and what type of classes i should take.

ps: i would like to start listening to more opera, but im completely blank as to who's out there now.  could someone give me some names to get me started (modern or classical)?

» Hi again :D
The new aria I started in class has a bit of trilling, and I totally don't understand how to to trill at all. I'd really appreciate some tips, if you guys have any =D!
» Back Muscles
I have found lately that my back is becoming very tense when i sing high notes (so notes i have to really work for) and my coach said it's because i dont scretch them enough. I've also noticed lately when i ride (i ride horses) that my lower back hurts and i read in a book last nght it can be caused by the lack of or tension of your back muscles so does anyone have any exercised or stretched they use for there back?
» Greetings!
I'm sure some of you are familiar with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, and she has this beautiful song with a Maori choir (or seems like it) called "Tarahiki" (The Locust). By some any chance, could some of you understand Maori (or the language of this song) and have it translated in English for me? I am supposed to use this great song for a upcoming "school" project.

Thanks very much!
